To put it simply: I just really, really like clothes.

Growing up less-than-privileged in Texas, I developed a love for thrifting, DIYing and dressing myself early on. I rejected trends, not just because I couldn't afford them, but because looking like everyone thought I should just didn't feel fulfilling. Dealing with a chronic illness, and spending more time in hospitals than out, exploring and expressing who I was through clothing felt like the only way I could exercise any sort of control over my life, and, as a result, my confidence and creativity flourished, enabling me to create a life I love today--but not without some bumps along the way.

After moving to Chicago in 2012, doing whatever I could to scrape by, I stumbled into my first client during one of my aspirational strolls through Barney's (RIP). From there, it was just a matter of tossing together some business cards and suddenly, my life's passion was realized: I wasn't just put on this earth to wear my own (killer) outfits, but to help others find themselves through fashion the same way I had all my life.

When I lost almost my entire wardrobe in my move to Los Angeles, I was scrambling to figure out how to get it all back. But, after a few months of accumulating worthless fast fashion, I quickly realized disposable clothing would never fill the hole in my heart…and my closet. As a result, I began to educate myself on slow, ethical, sustainable fashion, and now, nearly a decade later, I’ve never been happier with my style and wardrobe. I want everyone to feel what I feel when I look at my closet, so, I took on the task of educating people across the world on how to shop and dress with intention and, in the process, build a better relationship with clothing, with the earth, and with themselves. And thus, The Ethical Stylist was born.
